Amid Concerns Over a Balloon, US Cancels High-Level Meeting with China

After the Pentagon claimed there was a Beijing-operated surveillance balloon hovering over American skies, Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceled his plans to visit China next week. While a Department of Defense official told the media it has “high confidence” the unknown balloon is a Chinese-operated surveillance craft, it has released no details on how the Pentagon reached that conclusion. Beijing issued a statement saying the balloon is from China, but it is merely a civilian weather balloon.

On Thursday, American defense officials revealed to reporters that the DoD has tracked a balloon for several days in American skies. However, the Pentagon admitted Beijing would gain little from such a surveillance device. “First, our best assessment at the moment is that whatever the surveillance payload is on this balloon, it does not create significant value added over and above what the PRC (People’s Republic of China) is likely able to collect through things like satellites in Low Earth Orbit,” the official said.

The official added that the Pentagon did not shoot down the balloon, which is located in the skies above Montana, because falling debris could injure people on the ground. DoD spokesman Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said the balloon will not interfere with civilian aircraft and does not present a military threat.

The White House is reacting to the alleged Chinese craft by canceling a high-level diplomatic summit in Beijing. Had Blinken made the trip he would have met with the Chinese foreign minister and potentially President Xi Jinping.

A senior State Department spokesperson told reports on Friday, “[a]fter consultations with our interagency partners, as well as with Congress, we have concluded that the conditions are not right at this moment for Secretary Blinken to travel to China.” The US is claiming that the talks are postponed and will take place at a later date, but did not indicate when that may happen.

China issued a statement on Friday saying the craft was a weather balloon for civilian scientific purposes. “The airship comes from China and is of a civilian nature, used for scientific research such as meteorology,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said. Beijing claimed strong winds created a situation outside of its control that pushed the balloon into American airspace.

Beijing said it regretted that its balloon drifted into American skies and called for talks to resolve the dispute. However, talks will now be less likely as the State Department is keeping its distance from China.

Still, some in Congress are calling for more action. Senator Marco Rubio asserted the balloon was a Chinese surveillance craft that should be shot down. “It was a mistake to not shoot down that Chinese spy balloon when it was over a sparsely populated area. This is not some hot air balloon, it has a large payload of sensors roughly the size of two city buses & the ability to maneuver independently,” Rubio Tweeted Friday.

Electric vehicles are a SCAM – here’s why


(Natural News) There is a disturbing overlap between the marketing that was used to sell masks and “vaccines” during the covid scamdemic and the push to convert society to electric vehicles (EVs) only.

We are told that in order to save the planet from “global warming” and “climate change,” all gas-powered vehicles – and now gas stoves – must go. Is there any truth to this? The answer is of course not.

Take the claimed ranges, for instance. Whatever you hear about the distance an EV can travel in one charge, cut that in half during the winter season and you have a more accurate reading. Then there’s load and towing capacity, the figures for which are also overblown.

“…in the case of electric trucks – when used to do the things trucks are expected to do, such as pull a trailer… Instead they were only told – as in the case of Ford’s F-150 Lightning electric truck – that it could pull a 10,000 pound trailer. Which is true. Just not for long. Or rather, far,” reports Eric Peters Autos about this deception.

“Left out was the relevant fact that if they attempted to actually pull a trailer, they’d be stopping for a lengthy recharge every 80 miles or so. They were also told they could recharge at home – which is also true. As far as it goes.”

“But they were not told how very long that takes. Instead, they were led to believe they could get going again in only 30-45 minutes or so. But that is only possible by visiting so-called ‘fast’ chargers, which are not at home.”

EVs are dirty, dangerous, and unreliable: why does the green cult like them again?

Jerome Corsi, writing for American Thinker, also tackled this subject, noting that there is nothing economically viable about converting to EVs.

The entire EV push is driven by ideology rather than practicality or what he describes as “rational economic calculation.” This is part of the reason why four Wyoming state senators and two representatives have introduced a bill to ban all sales of EVs in Wyoming by the year 2035.

“Wyoming’s vast stretches of highway, coupled with a lack of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, make the widespread use of electric vehicles impracticable for the state,” reads Senate Joint Resolution No. SJ004, adding that “the batteries used in electric vehicles contain critical minerals whose domestic supply is limited and at risk of disruption.”

Should left-wingers devoted to green causes ever successfully ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles, especially if the ban includes industrial and commercial vehicles, there are major safety and reliability implications to consider as well. What happens when an EV semi-truck dies by the side of the road in the middle of a blizzard in the middle of nowhere? What will become of the driver and his payload?

Then there are the environmental implications of continuing to have child slave laborers dig up all the rare-earth minerals needed to produce EV batteries, which the same proposed legislation in Wyoming warns “are not easily recyclable or disposable, meaning that landfills in Wyoming and elsewhere will be required to develop practices to dispose of these minerals in a safe and responsible manner.”

Finally, where is all that extra electricity going to come from to charge these things? There are already electric infrastructure problems plaguing certain states at certain times of the year because the current setup is inadequate even for existing quantities of EVs out on the road. What will happen once the entire country is converted to EVs?

“They don’t care that it won’t work,” one commenter wrote about all this. “They want everyone to live in cities and only go where they are told by walking or riding a bike. You will own nothing and be happy.”

President Biden Announces Climate Lockdowns Coming

President Biden has announced plans to force people to work from home and give up their cars in an effort to combat climate change.

As part of the WEF’s Great Reset agenda for humanity, Biden has declared that his administration plans to make it difficult for ordinary Americans to travel in their cars and more desirable for them to stay at home.

The Washington Free Beacon notes:

The plan—which President Joe Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency and Energy, Transportation, and Housing departments released in January—aims to “eliminate nearly all greenhouse gas emissions” from the transportation sector by 2050, mostly through a transition to electric vehicles. Also included in the plan, however, is a controversial call to reduce “commuting miles” through “an increase in remote work and virtual engagements,” including in education.

“Telework and other components of a digital economy … can improve convenience by reducing travel demand, especially for work commuting,” the plan states. “The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted major opportunities for telework, with some studies showing the possibility of 10 percent long-term reduction in annual vehicle miles traveled.” The plan goes on to identify “remote access to services like health care and education” as one of the “key determinants of future travel demand.”

Thegatewaypundit.com reports: Where are they going with this? Jazz Shaw of Hot Air has a prediction:

I can’t shake the feeling that this brings us one step closer to a declared “climate emergency.” You people can all stay locked down in your homes voluntarily to save the polar bears or we can declare an emergency and lock you down like we did during COVID.

That probably sounds like tinfoil hat territory to some of you, but is it really? Back during the early days of the lockdowns, social distancing rules and the rest of the madness, I was warning people about this.

Your freedom and choices will have to be reduced in order to fight climate change, you see.
