China has not moved to send military aid to aid Russia in its invasion of Ukraine, and the United States has made clear behind closed doors that such a move would have serious consequences, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said today. .
"Beijing will have to make its own decisions about how to proceed, whether to provide military assistance, but if it goes down that path, it will come at a real cost to China," Jake Sullivan warned during his interview on CNN's State of the Union show.
US officials have privately warned their Chinese counterparts of the costs such a decision would entail, Jake Sullivan said, without elaborating on the closed-door discussions.
The United States and its NATO allies have been issuing stark warnings to China in recent days, increasing public statements that China is considering supplying Russia with weapons.
CIA chief William Burns also made similar statements today.
“We are convinced that the Chinese leadership is considering sending lethal equipment. To our knowledge, the final decision has not yet been made and we have no evidence of ongoing arms shipments" to Russia, William Burns told CBS' Face the Nation.
Republican Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told This Week that US intelligence agencies have evidence that attack drones are among the weapons China has considered sending to Russia.

It seems that Russia has targeted the American... Yellowstone volcano . There is no other way to explain the fact that for the second time in a few months, Russian military experts are suggesting on a broadcast of Russian state television that they strike the US national park.
Speaking on a nightly panel on the infamous Vladimir Solovyov show, Konstantin Sivkov admiral h.a. talked about how Russia's nuclear missiles could be used.
The expert, who even wore a military uniform, said that Russia's newest and most powerful Sarmat missile " is a special weapon" that can launch "a large number of nuclear warheads simultaneously" at a target.
The admiral e.a. proposed firing the Poseidon nuclear torpedo from the Belgorod submarine against the St. Andrews Rift and the Sarmat nuclear missile against the Yellowstone volcano .
Then, and in a clear threat against the US he said:
"It is impossible to build a defense system that intercepts all threats, which means that the United States is vulnerable, that's the first point," Konstantin Sivkov said to continue:
"And the second point is that Sarmat is a threat to the most feared facility on US territory, the Yellowstone volcano ."
And the Russian admiral continued:
“Beneath the tranquil surroundings of Yellowstone National Park in the US lies a vast magma chamber.
It is responsible for the geysers and hot springs that define the area.
But it is also one of the greatest natural threats to human civilization as we know it – a potential supervolcano.”
“If you look, the Belgorod submarine is sailing in the Pacific, not the Atlantic . And this is indicative that it is not in the Atlantic.
That means the west coast of the US and the famous San Andreas and San Jacinto fault. If these faults are activated then there will be cataclysmic impacts throughout the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Then comes Yellowstone , and then the Aleutian Islands volcano complex, then our own volcanoes in Kamchatka, and then Japan.
If something like that happens and Yellowstone explodes then the entire east coast of the US will collapse , " the Russian said.
It is not the first time, as reported, that the Russians threaten to strike this particular volcano, causing a huge number of victims.
In December, another Russian expert made the same point, saying:
"The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile can hit Yellowstone National Park in less than 30 minutes, causing a supervolcano eruption that can basically wipe the US and Canada off the face of the earth."
The Sarmat is a liquid-propellant missile and can carry between 10 and 15 multiple nuclear re-entry warheads (MIRVs) or any number of hypersonic re-entry vehicles known as Avangard. Its range is estimated at 18,000 km.
