A representative of Trudeau’s government finally came out to defend the federal government over what had happened between Saktachewan farmers and Canadian federal agents. This representative was none other than the minister for climate change, Steven Guilbeault. The minister came out to deny the fact that the federal government was indeed collecting nitrates samples. Though the man admitted that the agents might have been trespassing, he denied that they were on those lands for the sake of nitrates. Guilbeault condemned the Saskatchewan minister for Water Security Agency, Jeremy Cockrill, for writing such a public letter about the issue. It may seem that the federal minister didn’t expect such an outright attack from a politician. So Guilbeault used Cockrill’s action as a reason to come out publicly in a like manner to deny that the agents were there to collect nitrates samples. In his words and I quote, “I believe that we, and Canadians, are best served when we engage on the facts, not heated and misinformed rhetoric.” He went on to say, and I quote again, that, “On August 11, Environment and Climate Change Canada water scientists were taking samples alongside a highway in Pense, Saskatchewan on behalf of Health Canada. A landowner approached the scientists to inform them that they were in fact on private land.” This is where another problem lies because, you see, it wasn’t a single landowner who contacted Cockrill but a lot of landowners who accused the federal agents of trespassing. So whoever gave Guilbeault the lie that it was a single landowner? And on the issue of what has tested itself, the landowners said that the agents had told them that they were testing water samples for nitrates levels but on the other hand, we have Guilbeault telling us that it wasn’t nitrates that were tested that day but something else which he didn’t reveal. Now, are we supposed to take the word of one of Trudeau’s henchmen over that of hardworking farmers who have been cruelly targeted by the prime minister and his government in the pursuit of their radical and partial climate change policy? For me, I would rather stick with the farmers than with anyone who is close to Trudeau and is ever willing to do his bidding. The Chinese Volleyball Federation apologized on Friday for not asking members of its women’s team, currently involved in the Asian Cup in the Philippines, to remove their masks during a match against Iran. The Chinese players, dressed in red and equipped with white face masks, faced the Iranians in black jerseys, pants and hijabs. An unusual scene that had surprised many internet users in China. China’s team, one of the best in the world, won the match 3-1 in Pasig, the Philippines, where the competition is being held, on Thursday, taking first place in their group. Just before the end of the first set, which they lost, some players began to remove their masks, gradually imitated by all of their teammates, noted an AFP journalist.

Many Chinese Internet users had expressed their concern for the health of the sportswomen. “I thought it was a joke seeing that. I didn’t imagine that they had really played with their masks!”, Wrote a user of the Chinese social network Weibo, in tune with the general tone of the comments.

Scientists have figured out a way to take on overpopulation and climate change by creating a food seasoning made of mealworm.

“The global food market continues to grow, but it is still necessary to explore new food materials and/or develop new food products because food resources are gradually being depleted,” says researcher Hee Cho.

Cho says the bug spice was created in response to “a growing global population and the looming climate crisis.”

Even if eating bugs isn’t your thing, Cho and her fellow researchers may have found a way to keep things out of sight and out of mind. Indeed, the mealworm seasoning looks just like any other one that isn’t made up of roaches and garbage maggots and could be the next step in addressing most people’s pesky meat preference.

“Edible insects are superfoods,” says Cho, adding that “Many consumers do not like their [mealworms] physical appearance. So most insects have been used in crushed or powdered forms as food additives.”

Furthermore, Cho and her team discovered that the best way to trick someone into thinking they’re eating meat is to heat up the bug spice and mix it with sugar. Will you gain weight? Maybe. Diabetes? Can’t say. But these are small sacrifices required to save the world.

The time is nigh for bug-eating, folks. And children in the UK are already one step ahead of the curve, as they’re about to start eating bugs at school in a series of sustainable food workshops. Afterwards, at home, these little sustainability legends will teach their savage parents what real heroism looks like.

Across the pond, Canadians may already be eating bugs without knowing it. For example, Entomo Farms, a company based in Canada, sells junk food made from crickets in stores across the country under their “Actually Foods” brand.

And Canada just became home to the world’s largest cricket factory, where almost 10,000 metric tons of crickets will be produced annually for you and your dog to eat.

“A growing population and increasing demand for food and material requires sustainable, scalable solutions,” says CEO Mohammed Ashour.
