Joe Biden's administration is poised to declare a "climate emergency" with restrictions on civil liberties similar to those imposed during the recent pandemic, according to several energy industry leaders.
"They're moving in that direction right now," Tim Stewart, president of the American Petroleum Institute, said of the Biden administration. "If you give the president the power to declare a state of emergency, it will be like the pandemic. Stewart warned that a climate emergency declaration would give Biden and Democrats unchecked power to shut down communications and infrastructure."
