"Le rapporteur officiel" (The Official Reporter) was made in 1967 and broadcasted as an episode of the famed CBC TV drama "Les belles histoires des pays d'en haut" (Beautiful Highcountry Tales), in a new 50-minute format which will be the standard all the way to the end, in 1970. It is shot on two-inch open-reel colour videotape, save for the outdoor sequences which are on 16mm film stock. It features the fine writing skills of Claude Henri Grignon. Unfortunately, Grignon is still not very much at ease with the new 50 minute format, like we've outlined in "La terre de Bidou", elsewhere on this channel: there still are many unnecessary scenes, redundant in terms of plot structure. ............
