Data from the CDC showed that those vaccinated even with completed booster doses accounted for the most deaths from COVID-19 in August.
Vaccinated people account for the majority of deaths from COVID-19, according to data in their possession from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , debunking any pro-vaccination narrative.

Of the total 6,512 deaths recorded in August 2022, 58.6% of the deaths were attributed to vaccinated or boosted individuals and appears to be a sign of a growing trend where vaccinated individuals are increasingly the majority in COVID-19 mortality .
The previous months
In January 2022 , mortality from COVID-19 in the vaccinated was still in the minority with 41% of the data related to vaccinated or boosted individuals.
However, analysis of CDC data from June and July showed that more than 50% of deaths were reported in vaccinated individuals, with 62% and 61% reported respectively.
“We can no longer say this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Cynthia Cox, vice president of the Kaiser Family Foundation, told the Washington Post on Nov. 23, giving three reasons that might explain why.
1. First, that the majority of Americans have received at least the main series.
2. Second, that the elderly, who have the highest risk of dying from COVID, are also more likely to get vaccines.
3. Third, that the potency of the vaccine will decrease over time and as variants become more resistant, and therefore he recommended greater intake of boosters.
The effectiveness of vaccination against COVID-19 has been shown to decline dramatically over a period of a few months , sometimes to negligible effectiveness.
Professor Jeffrey Townsend of Yale University, a biostatistician and lead author of a research study evaluating natural immunity and that from vaccines against COVID-19, wrote in an email to The Epoch Times that at this stage of the pandemic, instead of to compare the vaccinated versus the unvaccinated , it would be more useful to compare a person's time since their last exposure, where exposure means vaccination or infection.

Since the current technology used in mRNA vaccines can "hide the mRNA from cellular defenses and promote a longer biological half-life and high spike protein production," according to a June 2022 paper published in Food and Chemical Toxicology .
The spike protein is the main pathogenic part of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
"Pandemic of the unvaccinated," a crumbling narrative
Dr. Peter McCullough cardiologist and CDC physician told The Epoch Times that the pandemic was only caused by the unvaccinated in 2020, where no vaccines were available, and by 2021 it was mostly the vaccinated who were dying of COVID-19.
He thought it was simply because the vaccine did little to control mortality.
"[The CDC data] is too late to reach that conclusion, [the vaccinated] probably became the majority sometime during 2021," McCullough said.
In 2020, more than 385,000 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded by the CDC, while in 2021, when vaccinations began, there were more than 463,000 deaths from COVID-19.
By June 2021, approximately 53% of the US population had received their first dose and 44% were fully vaccinated.
However, there was little difference in COVID-19 mortality cases between the first half of 2021 and the second half, with over 244,000 cases (over 50% of the entire year) reported from July to December.
The narrative has been reversed – The data of other states
“It certainly cannot be a situation where we blame the unvaccinated for deaths from COVID.
And we certainly wouldn't conclude that vaccines had any impact on us, since the majority of deaths occurred during the time of vaccinations," McCullough said.
Data from other countries have also shown higher rates of vaccinated patients hospitalized with COVID as vaccination rates overall increased.
As early as January 2022, inpatient data from the state of New South Wales (NSW) in Australia showed that a higher proportion of inpatients were vaccinated.
Vaccinated made up 50.3% of ICU patients compared to 49.1% who were unvaccinated.
NSW was the only state to continue to monitor and publicize the vaccination status of people hospitalized in Australia.
It is one of the most vaccinated places and by November 24, over 80% of over 16s had received their first boosters.
The most recent weekly data from NSW continued to show that those vaccinated account for the majority of hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths due to COVID.
The most recent report, dated November 12, showed that unvaccinated patients contributed to 21% of COVID deaths and less than 1% of hospitalizations and ICU admissions.
Canada – United Kingdom
However, it should be noted that the report reported only 24 deaths from COVID, with 440 hospitalizations and 40 ICU admissions, suggesting a reduction in the severity of the disease.
Mortality data from Manitoba, Canada for the week of July 31 to August 6, 2022 also showed that while the vaccinated and boosted population accounted for 70% of all COVID deaths , the unvaccinated contributed to less than 10% of deaths. .
This happens with 43% of the population having received booster doses.
Reports from the UK also showed similar findings.
A report (pdf) published on March 31, 2022 showed that nearly 73% of deaths from COVID-19 involved people who had been boosted, while 10% were attributed to unvaccinated people.
At that time, over 57% of the population received a booster dose of vaccine and 73% received their primary doses.
The death rates of the unvaccinated may not reflect the whole picture

McCullough added that by reducing overall disease severity with Omicron, the data may not provide an accurate understanding of COVID deaths.
“CDC death rates should be interpreted with caution because they are not judged to be dying from COVID.
They can actually die with COVID.”
The CDC website currently estimates that only 10% of deaths from COVID-19 have COVID-19 as the cause of death.
Therefore, there may be cases counted as mortality from COVID even if COVID was not the main cause of death.
McCullough gave the example that a person can be admitted to the hospital for a heart attack and test positive for COVID from having the disease 6 months ago.
That could mean that, for some deaths, "whether they're vaccinated or not is relatively irrelevant," McCullough said.

McCullough said that studies that evaluate COVID hospitalizations but do not judge for COVID illnesses or respiratory illnesses also may not directly reflect the prevalence or significance of COVID illnesses.
“Patients can be intermittently positive for COVID for many months after illness.
So if a patient comes in for a sprained ankle or an unrelated problem, they can count that as a COVID hospitalization.”
McCullough also cautioned that hospital-based studies of disease outcomes between vaccinated and unvaccinated people often collected vaccine data that was out of sync with the U.S. vaccine administration record.
“The hospital's electronic medical records assume that the patient is unvaccinated unless the patient actually verifies that they are.
A lot of ventilator patients are in the ICU, they can't produce their vaccine card."
The CDC's MMWR reports as unvaccinated people who were vaccinated but received the two primary vaccinations less than 14 days before the initial infection.
Another report wrote that the unvaccinated also included people who could not be matched to the registry.
