The European Union trembles and another scandal: The contracts signed for the Pfizer vaccines paid for gold by the member states of the Union
The case remains open and is being investigated by the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO), as part of an investigation against corruption and financial crime within the EU. The European Court of Auditors has also been involved in the investigations, which is examining the financial details of the agreement, focusing on the EU paid Pfizer's vaccines too expensive compared to other companies' vaccine prices.
The biggest fear is that on the occasion of QatarGate, the scandalous case of the EU-Pfizer agreement for the supply of vaccines against Covi-d-19, worth several billions, may come back to the fore.

It should be noted that this agreement was hastily signed in the middle of summer vacations, when the Commission was closed. There had been an exchange of several text messages between der Leyen and the head of Pfizer Albert Burla, which saw the light of day, were discussed in the European Parliament and were considered at least "strange" - if not suspicious.
The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) is now investigating the role played by the president of the Commission in concluding this agreement, looking for evidence of "suspicious negotiations", which caused a huge financial loss to the EU - to the benefit of the American pharmaceutical giant.
Also, two independent EU audit agencies have already shown interest in Ms von der Leyen's "high-level" contacts with Pfizer over vaccine purchase deals.
Last week the CEO of Pfizer Albert Burla was called to testify on this subject to the special committee of the European Parliament. He refused to appear – as he did in October when he was asked to appear before the committee and explain how the secret vaccine deals were made.
In Brussels they fear that after QatarGate we will have a much bigger "earthquake", with accusations and suspicions of financing at the highest levels of the EU. It will be Pfizer-Gate and it will cause serious cracks in the European structure, with multiple side effects at the political level in all the member countries.
